What has happened to our nation?

Where have all the sensible people gone?

We are suffering from a binge on entitlements, a hangover from the dysfunction of government and a chronic case of crabs in every office of government in the land. We praise idiots because they entertain us in movies, they play doctors and lawyers and politicians and then we think they can solve our woes because that acted the part once. What kind of idiocy breeds this kind of logic?

We have politicians who believe themselves above us, above the law and above reproach. They demand the respect due them because of the office they hold, all the while forgetting that it is an office of responsibility not power. Decrees abound, from the minds and mouths of fools with no understanding of the issues. They posture and primp, speaking words full of sounds but devoid of any meaning.

We are told that we have no idea what is right so we must be lead, by force if need be, to the trough of understanding where we will be shackled for our own well being. There to be afforded the privilege of the meager largess deemed sufficient by the elites. These same elites tell us, that for too long we have run amuck without the benefit of their hand to guide us, we have caused ourselves harm and now it must be made right by the proper masters of our fates. They demand obedience and loyalty on pain of shame at the least and death at the most. If we speak out or ask why, we are marginalized, we are said to be in poor mental health, given to fancy and irrational thinking and ultimately a danger to ourselves and too society at large. We must be brought under control before the nation suffers irreparable harm.

And like rats in a maze, people search for the reward of conforming to the system set before us. I will not conform, I will not divide my soul for a crumb, nor will I ask permission to think as God has given me sovereignty over my own mind and my own actions. If it means my life to live free of intrusion, so be it, though it not be my desire, my life I will give to speak the truth as it is, not as I am told to think.

If your life be so short of value that the comfort of conformity be your guiding principle, then may your life be long and filled with unfulfilled dreams, and when at the end of your time, you find the empty hole where your spirit once rested, let it be the only place in which to shed your tears of regret.

Though I may die, yet may I live: in the sound of the wind, the lightning in the night sky and the crash of waves upon every shore…for my body may be no more, but none but Hashem can quench my spirit.

AWESOME

Lost To The Truth

It is depressing to read comments from people who call God their father, tell people to lean on Him, declare they stand on His word and then demonstrate it by voting to continue an administration that has no love of Christianity or the word of God. I know I may not always have it right, I am after all a man and sometimes my emotions get in the way of clear thinking. But I do view the world through the lens of scripture and I understand the face and form of evil even in it’s most benign presentations. I guess it comes down to what a person is inside and how they view life in their own eyes. As for me, I view life as an opportunity to make strides toward the kingdom of God, to be what God wants me to be, to do it as He has instructed in His word: By my hands through His direction using my own sweat and industry. I lean on no one but my wife and family for support, I ask for no government provisos and look for as little government as possible. For those that believe the election of 2012 was a call to continue government growth, unchecked and as furious as a wild fire, how this computes as a good thing is what troubles my heart and gives me fits. I have spoken with many of the “faithful” and have listened to their logic. It makes no sense to me but I have listened. What I have been told is, that previous administrations (only the last two) were rife with corruption, illegal activity and cronyism. They were administrations that catered to the rich and left the middle class to flounder in desperation and debt. The current administration, I was told, is the most transparent in history, the most connected and the most caring of the middle class at the expense of the wealthy, bar none. I have been treated to tails of wonder over this newly re-elected president and his openness, his willingness to work with his detractors who are the most hateful people ever. I have listened to comments filled with awe that this one man, Barack Obama, is the fulfillment of all the dreams of the American middle class. Obama, I have been told, is the first president in history who put the people first, not caring about himself he put his political future on the line to stand up for what is right…

Hogwash.

Barack Obama is the first president in history that has openly declared his contempt for this country and our culture. He is the first to brazenly demonstrate behavior that can be charged as treason; the first to openly act against Americas ethic of hard work and personal reward and accountability. He is without peer when abuse of office is in question, having no respect for the legislative branch and having declared that the judicial branch supports unlimited corporate and special interest money in elections (not true) he demonstrated he has no problem lying outright to propel his vision of an all powerful executive branch. The votes Obama got were from people that have a most tenuous grasp of reality if they have a grasp at all. They voted for one set of lies about how Obama did such a wonderful job his first term, how Obama saved the auto industry, how Obama killed Bin Laden, Obama saved economy, Obama is thrifty and transparent and any failure of his policies can be laid at the feet of the republicans in congress. They voted  against another set of lies: Republicans will take away your social security, Romney is a felon because he does not pay taxes and he has money overseas, republicans want you to starve and die, republicans only help the rich, Romney / Ryan will take away a woman’s right to choose, republicans want blacks to die, republicans don’t care about immigrants, republicans want dirty air and water and the list goes on. No logic involved, don’t even think about it, just give the incumbent his next contract and move…forward.

Forward into what? All that can be assured using the Obama vision is deficits into perpetuity,  higher prices, lower standards of living for the vast majority, business failures, higher crime rates, lower expectations and an education system that is failing at every level. And yet this is the vision the majority voted for, this is the America they want. How did we come to this? A once great nation brought to it’s knees not by an enemy from without, instead poisoned by a fungus from within. The fungus of greed, hate and envy. Brought down by people who have in their heart a lust for control so overwhelming that sense and logic are it’s nemesis. A mind set so opposed to debate on the merits of their vision that they only see through eyes wide shut, ignoring the danger of their Utopian vision. Obama says  ”Forward” and in lock-step they march though they know not where or for how long. the rhetoric used in this last election was tried and trued in the past, always by people who claimed to be desirous of the ‘people’ getting what is fair, willing to punish those that benefit unfairly off the backs of the people. We have heard before the cries of commercial theft of the labors of the workers by the corporate greed of industries elite. We have been entreated to fight the boardrooms and the money behind the machination of industry. We have heard it all before, always from people who, in the end were guilty of the very despotic attitudes and behaviors they claimed to fight against.

The truth has been out there for decades, centuries in fact and yet we repeat the pattern, we opt into the very paradigm we ought to avoid with all passion. Not all of us to be sure, but enough that we doom ourselves to the same fate that claimed other great societies, from Macedonia to Carthage to Rome, all suffered a fall to mediocrity as a result of power concentrated in the hands of a few, with promises of equity to the people driven by a mad lust for that which is not earned. Greed is a manifestation of base thinking on hyper-drive, a repugnant expression of insecurity that manifests in ugly and hurtful ways. When a populace is driven to ever increasing levels of largess, by a ruling class whose only desire is to build the dependency on that largess of those they rule, it will reach a breaking point. When that happens, those few who continue against the paradigm will be viewed as outside the norm, against the mentality that believes in the ruling class for sustaining the status quo bias.

Alas, we have reached that point.

In America, we used to believe in the paradigm of self support, the understanding that we are each responsible to ourselves for our needs and wants. We believed that if we worked hard and behaved decently we would reach our desired state of contentment, and moving forward, we would continue our own support to maintain that level of contentment. We have now reached a point where there are too few of us that believe in the ‘status quo anti’,  the way it used to be. We stand out to the masses because we do not want the government involved in our lives, a place it does not belong. We believe that we are the only truth in solving our personal dilemmas  from finances, to housing and education, we understand that to reach our goals, it must be by our own hand.  We believe that God requires us to be accountable for ourselves, to answer for our failures as well as rejoice in our successes.

I, for one, do not envy anyone who has made a good success of their lives, I do not want what they have nor do I want it taken from them by anyone else, especially the government. And for thinking and believing what I do, I am called intolerant, bigoted, hateful and even an enemy of the state. How does my desire to work and earn, to care for my family by my own industry make me an enemy of the state? How am I a threat to our society because I do not believe the government has any business telling me how to live my life and what I can and cannot own, eat or listen to? My parents taught me that I will answer for my life conduct, I am responsible for how I live and how far I go in life. I was taught by my father to stand as all men were expected to stand: On my own two feet. I walk my path in life, I do not try to force my will on other people and I do not appreciate someone else doing it to me. I am polite and courteous to others as I was taught to be. I want nothing that belongs to someone else, I will earn it myself and for this I am told I am a horrible person.

What has this country come to?

We have lost the anchor in the storm, we have abandoned God officially and are now worshiping other idols. Our government has embraced a false belief whole heartily and as it happened to Israel, we have been brought to ruin because of it. Many will say I am a fool for believing this, I welcome such criticism because it proves that I am still on the path that God has set before me. I will not bend, I will not give in. My life is not as important as where I will be at my end and it is to God I will answer and not the government.

The truth is that we have fallen away from that which used to sustain us and instead our society has cleaved to an ideology of greed and hate. This is what has become of our lives, this is why we now suffer and this is why we will all pay the price.

We are lost…alas we are lost.

Ancient icons of what is now Iraq

In a study of the history of the Middle East, there is no ignoring the icons of Nebuchadnezzar (N’vukhadnetzar),  Darius (Daryavesh) and Cyrus (Koresh) .  These great kings of the past contributed to the richness of the kingdom of Babylon, known at that time as Bavel. Nebuchadnezzar conquered Judah which was handed to him by God, after which Nebuchadnezzar acknowledged the authority and greatness of the God of Israel:

Dan 4:37 “So now I, N’vukhadnetzar, praise, exalt and honor the King of heaven: ” ‘For all his works are truth, and his ways are just; and he can humble those who walk in pride.’ “

Later, his son Belshatzar, ignored Nebuchadnezzar’ praise and mocked God which resulted in Belshatzar’ death and the kingdom being handed to Darius the Mede, who in his turn also admitted the greatness and supremacy of Yahweh when he said:

Dan 6:26 ” ‘ I herewith issue a decree that everywhere in my kingdom, people are to tremble and be in awe of the God of Dani’el. “For he is the living God; he endures forever. His kingdom will never be destroyed; his rulership will last till the end.
Dan 6:27 (6:28) He saves, rescues, does signs and wonders both in heaven and on earth. He delivered Dani’el from the power of the lions.’ “

Cyrus decreed that the Israel would be freed and further decreed that the temple be rebuilt in Jerusalem. Daniel served under all three kings and prospered under each right in Babylon proper, a place where a Jew would be hounded and harassed today. In fact, ancient Babylon is revered today for being resplendent in its time, it was the focus of the civilized world and all military and financial power was centralized there during the reign of Nebuchadnezzar and ending after the rule of Cyrus the Persian. Saddam Hussein was attempting to recreate much of Babylons grandeur during his despotic rule, he desired to be the man that brought Babylon back to world prominence.

What is curious to me, is that Muslims claim ancient Babylon as a historical touch-stone despite the fact that Islam did not exist then and at the same time they deny the power of the “Living God”. Kings that predate Muhammad twelve hundred years recognized the God of Israel as the one true God but their decedents  claim he never existed and the only true god is Allah. On the one hand Muhammad called the Jews the ‘people of the book’, acknowledging the Torah and on the other he denied the Torah and claimed both orthodox Jews and early Christians- the first Messianic Jews- to be monkeys and pigs, worthy of death or subjugation. Christian’ today are called intolerant if they demand Islam be kept out of our society. We are told that we should read the Koran and know Islam in truth. But no one ever tells a Muslim that he should read the Tanakh and know the truth of God. A Muslim is not told how the great kings of their ancestors called Yahweh the “One true God”.

Perhaps it is time to do just that, give them the word from a time older than their Koran, let them read the words of their own great kings and decide for themselves which word is true: The call to war or the call to forgiveness.

Get over him already…

Okay no messing around now, people have got to wake the heck up…NOW!!! I am beyond fed up with the politically correct nincompoops and “Ya gotta vote for the brotha” automatons in this world. Stop looking at Obama as a black man and start looking at him as simply a man. Take the color glasses off and act like an objective human being with sense.

Obama is given to vices, weaknesses, bad habits, bad judgment and foolish thinking just as any man is. He is not a savior, the one, a god, a wizard or even all that attractive for that matter. And yet people have fallen all over themselves trying to convince other people that not only does he walk on water but he created it just so he could walk on it. Obama is and has ever been a flawed man, and a worst candidate. His presidency is an abysmal failure and too many people are trying to look the other way so they are not called racist for pointing out “The emperor has no clothes”. Chief among them is the black community whose collective pride refuses to see a man disconnected from them and reality.

In Obama the black community had what they believed was a man of substance and conviction in tune with the black experience in America. They have yet to understand that his only real tie to that experience is his wife. America was told Obama lived an impoverished life on welfare with his mother. The country embraced his story as a real rise from obscurity to a story book success. People cried in the streets as they joyfully told of Obama being the fulfillment of the dreams of Martin Luther King.

Hold that last thought…better to re consider.

Dr. King had hoped his children would be judged “…not by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.” Yet Obama is the first and only President whose election was based solely on the color of his skin with no scrutiny given to his character at all: An ‘epic fail’ to use a colloquialism. Dr. King would have been ashamed of it, and yes I believe that whole heartedly.  I do not believe for one minute that Obama honors Dr. King’s sacrifices or his efforts. I think he uses what will get him what he wants and then discards it. Obama was supposed to change this country for the better, yet we are now worse off than we ever have been. He most definitely changed the face of American politics, but not in the way so many had hoped. Instead of freeing the country of racist ghosts, everyone is now hyper race sensitive. Any criticism or question of an Obama action or decision is rebuffed with a charge of racism.

It should be clear by now, that the only people obsessed with race and who are, by inference, themselves racists, are members of Obamas administration and those that support it. If Obama were a white, conservative male his screw up’s would be front page news and no one would question his detractors. But this guy can poop all over the carpet and we are expected to smile and cheer him on. The main stream media has been in the tank for Obama for so long now they would need rehab to get them back on their feet. Why is it that so called journalists are so afraid of this fine upstanding guy they so proudly hailed into office? I’ll tell you why: He’s a black man, and like Obama’s grandmother, they get nervous wondering if he will act out the stereo type.

That’s right I said it, don’t like, shoot me.

They are horrified of the racist label and will do anything to keep it away from them. They are so pathetic, they have played the race card against every conservative out there, believing they were covered by their proximity to the man they put on the throne, only to discover that the trivialization of racism left a stink on their own hands.

Demagogue-In-Chief

Demagogue is not a word that was used to describe Barack Obama in the campaign of 2008. Hope and Change were the mantra of his campaign and voters that flocked to his side were eager to take up the call. But the Obama of 2012 is a different person, even more cynical, more narcissistic and without doubt, more desperate for the Oval Office than ever before in his life. So much more desperate in fact that he has adopted a scorched earth policy.

In his first run for the White House, Obama claimed a link to the black community that he did not share, a link that could only come from a shared history and an equal struggle. Obama’s critics during his 2008 campaign, Al Sharpton chief among them, pointed out that Obama was not an ‘authentic’ black and not representative of the true black experience born out of the struggle to find a place in a post slavery America. While many people have tried to equivocate and color the formative years of Mr. Obama, it does not negate the underlying question: Did he live a life that in any way compares to the life of an urban youth in the black community during the same period in his life?

The answer is no.

In 2008 voters heard about some of Obama’s youth; his life in Indonesia, his basketball efforts at Punahou School in Honolulu, HI., and his penchant for eating at a local favorite spot, Rainbow Drive-In. What many did not know is that tuition at Punahou during Obama’s attendance there was more than $5,000.00 per year, hardly urban. In addition, he lived in Manoa Valley, a decidedly non-urban community, and while he may very well have been battling an inner turmoil, trying to develop his ‘black’ side, it makes no difference to the truth of his upbringing. Many people struggle with who they are or where they fit in even when they grow up with everyone around them being the same in skin, history, lifestyle and convictions. There is nothing unique or edifying about Obama’s particular struggle, he learned what he did and used that insight to move him through life in search of his place in the world. It has taken him to the pinnacle of world power and he took with him the hopes of community well versed in turmoil.

The problem is he does not share the same hopes as that community does…not entirely. The danger that lives in the black community is a militant anger that will not be sated. While not universal within the community, this anger is what links Obama to the black community, not because Obama shares this anger necessarily, but because he uses it to further his purpose.

Obama echo’s the words of hope in the black community, but his actions feed the anger that festers within. He claims a kinship that he could not abandon all while using the anger to foment a racial divisiveness that will be unequaled in the history of America. He uses the successful efforts of others and claims them as his own. He calls for cooperation while he usurps authority not granted him by the decorum of his office. Obama called himself a unifier yet America now finds itself more divided by race, means and thought than ever before, a divide that will tear the country to shreds if not checked. His current campaign is rife with clichés, pandering and dissembling. He foments anger at every opportunity by playing to the fears of his supporters with lies and half truths, misrepresenting his record and those that do not share his vision. He claims success when failure is all the eye can see. He can do this because his only true success in his first term has been to enslave millions more to the teat of mother big government, making them dependant on the government he is running into bankruptcy.

Yet what of the community he embraced as his own, distantly I will say, yet a community that in some ways had no choice but to accede to Obama’s desires. What happens to that community as true brother is turned against brother, father against son and mother against daughter? How can any unification, in truth, be had by dividing people with rhetoric and dissembling? What ideal is served by claims that every discussion or criticism of Obama is guided by racism, a hatred of his skin? There is only one end to such designs, only one conclusion when the maestro at the podium brings his choir to the crescendo of his symphony: Chaos, civil distress and ultimately war.  Not of a sort, but a real war in the streets. In recent days, the New Black Panther Party has made very disturbing comments regarding the upcoming election and what they see as their purpose in this country. The NBPP is fully supportive of the Obama reelection push, and their statements are designed to strike fear and confusion in the hearts of Obama’s opponents. Fear that will demoralize those that would end the capricious reign of a man bent on self gratification and personal pleasure. They believe violence will force votes to Obama in order to end the threat, a threat I personally believe will be carried out regardless of how the vote turns out.

The threats are born of the anger that crawls under the skin of a cadre of people loyal to the idea, that revenge is the only solace for a tortured soul. Revenge for past wrongs, present indifference and a future made unclear by the very anger that is fueling the drive to attain that revenge. When anger such as this is given voice and purpose it is almost impossible to contain it, no way to put the genie back in the bottle or close the lid on Pandora’s Box. What will follow such action? What will become of the black community should civil war of a racial nature become a reality?

It is my opinion that Obama is without consideration for what the black community will suffer if the NBPP carries out their promise of death and destruction of “Whitey” and the slaughter of new born “pink people” in an effort to eradicate this nation of whites. Such an act would be a full declaration of war unlike any seen in this lifetime, and the divisions that so far have been driven by rhetoric, will become fixed and permanent with no possibility of redemption. The NBPP has been emboldened by a Justice Department that turned a blind eye on the intimidation and threats of violence perpetuated on voters in Philadelphia on Election Day 2008. They have been empowered by a media that drinks in ugly words and dismiss them as only words of frustration for centuries of slavery. And Obama sits smiling all the while, knowing that he has a group of unquestioning believers at his disposal…unwitting as well.

Obama has a thirst for power that cannot be satisfied, not even with a second term. He wanted to change America to suite his vision of the world, and he will not be satisfied until he has destroyed the very foundation that made this country the global power it once was. That change requires the submition of the American public without equivocation. Violence is a means to an end in achieving that change. Obama will not have to lift a hand, those that believe he is their surrogate will act of their own accord, Obama will benefit and America will suffer for it. The NBPP is only a part of the black community, but it is now the most visible part. Should this come to pass, it will be the black community that pays the highest price: they will never be forgiven.

That Obama is using the black community is no surprise, they are willing to serve him, they just do not know the price they will pay for doing so.  The fact that he would do so without regard to the cost to the black community is unconscionable and a sad testament to the man that claimed to be the only person that could unify this country and the world.

Lead To Destruction

Isaiah 9:16 KJV say this: “For the leaders of this people cause them to err; and they that are led of them are destroyed.”

What we now see in Washington are leaders fitting this precise description. Forsaking not just God, but the wisdom of ages found in His word, the bible.  All of our laws at the founding and preceding it come from biblical wisdom, from biblical precepts of right and wrong. So What has changed in 400 years? What has caused our leadership to discard such wisdom for the fallacy of secular thinking? How did we get to where we think we are wiser than the ages?

Ecclesiastes 1:9 KJV says this: “The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.”

So what has changed? I will tell you: The mind of man has devised for itself a superiority over his past. We think technology is the answer to every problem we have and that wisdom is no longer the purview of age and experience but it is gained with the flip of a switch or the push of a button. No longer do we seek the counsel of the past to formulate solutions to problems we now face because we think our problems are new and unique. Human nature is what it is, nothing changes except the moment in time in which an action takes place. Men have always hated other men, always wanted to conquer and control, at any cost. The only difference between then and now is that it can all happen so quickly it is old news by the time you hear anything about it. Television has given unscrupulous men access to millions, they can feed people their vision without filters instantaneously and without a counter or question about the right or wrong of it. We are saddled with laws designed to bridle us, control every aspect of our behavior with certain specific exceptions. And those exceptions are qualified because the government wants to control certain aspects of those as well. But without God in the discussion, we lose the only real arbiter of our lives, the source of wisdom eternal that cannot be substituted. Many things are just wrong, no matter how many believe otherwise and societies in the past recognized that some things should never be allowed, cry as you might the answer was no. They understood that to begin to equivocate meant losing ground in the long run. Giving in today assured a concession in the future. This has been the beginning of our slide into the annuls of mediocrity as a society and a nation. We have superseded the wisdom of God with the foolishness of man, assigning importance to the wrong things and relegating the moral, thoughtful and considerate things that will benefit our society to obscurity. We teach our children to worship the creation instead of the creator, we assign glory to the mediocre and disparage real courage and sacrifice. If we are to ever be a strong nation again, we must return to that which gave us our greatness and if you were wondering, it comes from God.

Begin…now.

Pundits have said that God has no business in the business of politics, that God has no place in the governance of man, that God is of no consequence in the life of a considerate man and religious people have no place in politics. Here, in America, we are a diverse culture, full of vibrant people of every race creed and national origin. And within that mix of people we find differing ideas of right and wrong, good and bad and because of this fact we will be more tolerant of a persons right to choose what is right for themselves. Religion only gets in the way of free expression and choice. When it comes to the act of governing, religion hinders the legislative process, making simple decisions difficult and causing harm to one group or another so lets keep God in a box so He does not get in our way.

I do not know about you, but God has never gotten in my way, though I know I have surely mucked up the works for Him. As a young man I could not imagine an America without God involved in our day-to-day lives. From the halls of congress to city hall I believe that with God in the mix we are a better people. Not perfect, just better. For me to accept that God is only an idea is not possible because I have witnessed too much in my life that prove He is. As I move forward from here, I hope to incite thought and consideration of the word of God and why it is important to our very existence as a people and a nation. I will often post my opinion on everything from political ideology, policy and legislative action to campaigns and elections. God has much to say about how men govern their lives and I intend to spread the word.
